If you are interested in living in one of our properties you will need to be registered on your Local Authorities’ Re-housing Register. The website addresses and contact phone numbers are at the bottom of this page. All our empty properties are advertised with the appropriate Local Authority.
Once you on the appropriate Register you will be able to bid on the properties that they advertise each week or fortnight. Your re-housing need will be assessed and you will be given you a band, usually 1-5 or A-C. Your band will be based on how urgently you need to move. This decision will be made based on a number of factors including:
- the size of your current property,
- medical adaptations you need in your home,
- problems you may be experiencing in your current home/ area
- personal circumstances which mean you need to move.
Once our properties have been advertised, we will offer the property to the household at the top of the list providing they fit the criteria stated in the advert i.e. family size, can cope with lots of stairs.
Before you move into your new home you will be interviewed by one of our staff and invited to view the property. This is to make sure that we have information on all your needs and that the property is suitable for you.
Please be aware, if you turn down a property with out a strong reason your Local Authority may penalise you by relegating your banding for 6 months.
